Yahoo answers site is the site where u come across many questions. U either ask or answer. Points are given to encourage u in participating. I feel it is very interesting. There is no specific use for that. But its fun!

Nothing. Why are people so obsessed with asking these "anti-point" questions? If you are so anti, what are you doing here in the first place? Yea we all know that the points will not turn and come to us as dollar bills but who cares!

That is one of the greatest marketing strategies Yahoo has adopted to lure people to use it. One that every professional and managers has to learn from.
People like to get incentives for their work no matter how small or useless it is. people just love it.
moreover it is not a useless utility we can learn more from it as well as expand our friends circle to a wider angle that you never thought possible.

It is simple fun. It expands your knowledge on how people face different kinds of problems and is a big guide to you in case you go thru the similar situations in ur future.Lot of mental preparedness! Broadens ur mind to think from different perspectives! Makes u feel gud that u r helping someone! I guess that is more than enough...
