and please dont say autozone im an intermidete mechanic so i have some knowledge please help

I would break down and try to find a service manual for your truck. Sometimes all you need is a bent paper clip or a voltmeter. I doubt Autozone would be able to help unless your was a 1996 or newer anyway.
