That is the common, variegated spider plant. It is easy to grow, and easy to propigate (grow babies). Sometimes it is called airplane plant.

Moderate sun is required as an indoor. Some people grow it in a hanging basket, though personally I prefer it as a table plant.

My cat loves to eat it.

Lastly it is prone to brown leaf tips. This can be caused by chlorine in the water, lack of humidity or too much sun. Just cut off the tips if they become too bad to look at.

Give it a lot of water, and transplant it every year. You'll have an heirloom to pass on with very little work on your part.
