go into china town (just off leicester square) and try the food in there. Failing that then there are plenty of eateries all around that area that will be more than willing to part you from your hard earned cash.

It all depends on which parts of London you plan to visit, and which foods you prefer.

London has a fabulous China Town (nearest tube either Leicster Square or Piccadilly Circus). There is plenty of chinese restuarants to chose from, and from experience, most are extremely good.

If you have kids, or like the novelty factor then try Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe.

Covent Garden has a wide and varied array of restuarants. Bertorelli's on Floral street is a gorgeous Italian, The Rock Garden by the piazza(market), Maxwells, or why not try one of the pubs for good old english pub grub.

If none of the above appeals, then try www.londonrestaurantsguide.com You are sure to find something there. :)

Vinopolis - the best place to try wines
Borough Market on Friday and Saturday- the best place for interesting food
Monmouth Coffee near Borough Market - the best place for coffee I have so far discovered on this planet (it IS a different experience from anything else!!! frankly - the only place I can drink coffee withou milk in it)
Neal's Yard Cheese Shop near Borough Market - the most amazing place for cheeses probably anywhere
Royal Observatory in Greenwich/Oxo Tower/London Eye - the best views
Liberty (Tudor Builiding) - one of the most amazing shops - almost how they used to look 100-200 years ago
Joan Soan Museum - the most amazing museum
Roof Gardens - the most unique garden in London (in High Street Kensington on top of the Marks & Spencer supermarket - entrance from the side street, and you have to take a lift) - a piece of Spain, a pool with ducks and flamingoes above the roofs of London - and not many people around). Another tip for a garden: Secret Garden in Regent's Park - but you have to find it yourself...:-)). Clue? Next to the building right in the middle of the park.

The Eye, and then walk across the river and take some pictures of Big Ben. Ride the Tube. Visit The Hard Rock Cafe (it's the original), See Phantom of the Opera and The Mousetrap (two wonderfull long running plays.) Take an hour bus(coach) ride to Oxford (message me for specifics-I spent a semester abroad there)...Just walk around London and enjoy it. And don't forget to look RIGHT.

For Lunch or Dinner etc; Rules! The oldest eating house in London. Just off the Strand, up Bedford Street, into Chanceory Lane. Superb!

Here's one off the beaten track - Chislehurst Caves. You get taken through the caves with oil lanterns led by a guide who tells you loads of things from the history of the caves - ghost stories, Druid sacrifices, Second World War air raid shelters, a Civil War battle, pirate radio stations, even mushroom growing ... and much much more! You get to experience absolute darkness where you can not even see your hand if you wave it in front of your face. It's different from the usual tourist stuff, and well worth the trip to outer (south-east) London.
