They are idiots. Two wrongs don't make a right. What do they think - that other sting rays will think ooops better not kill people in future? Or maybe they'll flush out the killer - ratted on by his sting ray colleagues? Or that it will just teach them a lesson? Or that Steve would have even WANTED them to "avenge" his death? - quite the opposite of course since he loved creatures like that. They are making all people look like dicks

Well first of all .. People kill fish EVERYWHERE in the world..
These are stingrays.. NOT fish.. and it is not fair to say " Australians" Not all Australians are out there hunting for them to be killed.
To be honest there has been nothing on the major news bulletins about this alleged " killing" of sting rays.
In fact there has been more press coverage about in America then Australia.. Now isn't that ironic..
If there is in fact Stingray slayings they are from lowlife uneducated high school dropout boaties...
It is not fair to blame a majority " Australia" for a minority, most likely of about 5 people for these alleged "slayings"...
You must believe that every Australian and their surfboard and BBQ are at the beach with their shovels trying to hunt stingrays.. ?
No that is not true.. you would need a boat to do so.... & not every australian owns a boat..
By the way i am Australian, I am not a beer guzzler nor am i a slob or an idiot...
I could go on and say some really nasty things about Americans, But i know that it is called a "Stereo-Type"...
You people are really disrespectful.

"is it true that some Australians are killing stingray to avenge the death of Steve Irwin?"
Actually, the news stories just said that somebody has been killing stingrays in Australian waters. The stories didn't say that it was Australians. It could be visitors from elsewhere.

Off course it's not true.
The stingrays have obviously decided under the circumstances to commit mass suicide.
What the papers forgot to mention was that several of the stingray were infact seen wearing Karki shorts at the time of their suicides which I think is a fantastic tribute.
Why papers still fail to publish the truth is simply perverse.

I would assume its true. Idiots did the same thing with sharks when Jaws came out in the 70's from what I was taught. People tend to disregard facts and go on emotion.
Killing these magnificent creatures only shows that there is so much that the human race still needs to learn before they can be called civil or humane.

It is true. I can't believe anyone would do such a terrible thing. His death was a tragic accident, the ray was not being malicious, it was just behaving naturally. Steve Irwin dedicated his life to conservation, so killing these innocent creatures is completely opposite to what he believed in. Completely sick and ridiculous.

I haven't heard that but I can quite believe it. I know its wrong but its part of the grieving process. Feeling angry and wanting revenge is part of the natural healing process. I felt it when my mum died suddenly when i was a kid. Steve was that popular down under that I'm sure some people are killing stingrays to try and make themselves feel better.

I'm Australian and we have had no reports of that. Either you are making a joke which is cool. haha. Or your zionist media is presenting lies to keep you more concerned with idiotic things then being concerned with the big picture. The point is, this is not happening. Why would your "media" present this lie? Americans unfortunately believe everything they see on the news. Things won't be funny when you're living in a Fascist state. Australia, I might add is headed in the same direction. In fact they have already taken away our guns.

yet yet another unhappy occasion of human stupidity and conceitedness. it is resembling thinking that the ray intentionally stabbed Irwin because of the fact it "theory" like someone. As I comprehend it, the ray reacted in self-maintenance, as any animal might, because of the fact it felt threatened by the attentions of Irwin and his digicam team. for sure, the human beings who did this tragically do no longer understand Irwin's message.
