89 chevy 350 engine I bought for $600.00
tryin to build me a hot rod,I am putting it in a 1980 pick-up, any tips would be great help,thanks

You need to swap the intake manifold ( Get one from Edelbrock) with the right pattern for the carb you want to use. If the engine is TPI you'll only need the manifold. If the engine is MPI you should also replace the heads (Edelbrock again).

If you have to swap heads you might as well go all out and overbore (+.03" at least), forged pistons, roller rockers, bigger cam, and stronger connecting rods if you plan to go NoS.

There are more aftermarket Chevy 350 parts than you can imagine. Grap a Summit Racing or Jegs catalog and you'll be all set for whatever you want to do.

all you have to do is change the intake to a four barrel intake and then put your four barrel carb on it and you will have to re-time the engine once you have it up and running because the timing will be different for a carb.

Sure. You will just need a carburetor manifold and a distributor with a mechanical advance mechanism.

why if you want gas mileage stay fuel injection and bigger injectors a little nos and boom your off
