You are right to question the 'double speak'.

Have you read the book 1984? It refers to a government similar to the one we have now that changed the meaning of words and totally control the publics' mind to the point of mass craziness.

That's what Bush has accomplished. It's a sorry state of affairs and very frightening too.

A mission is not the whole war, it is a single task, part of a larger job. "Mission accomplished", referred to the destruction of Saddam's Army, not the objective of removing a dictator and establishing a democracy in Iraq.

As to the Liberals wanting to 'cut and run', that is just their usual politicizing of events for political gain. After all, where is their 'cut and run' policy in Korea? The democrats got involved there in 1950 and we are still there. That mission has been accomplished for some time now.

Cut-and-Run, as liberals propose, won't work. That will make the situation in Iraq worse. Mission still needs to be accomplished.

Democrats of decades past would be embarrassed at the actions of the NeoLibs today. At least past Democrats had the guts & integrity to stand with their president, even if they disagreed, at a time of war.

It's not hard to tell that you are rooting for Saddam.
Write him a letter and tell him you want to surrender.
