Sprinkle liberally with bicarobonate of soda, leave overnight and vaccuum off. It is a natural deodoriser and will not stain your couch.

I have found Febreze is the most effective on most odors and does not stain

Throwing a beach towel over it when your sweaty guy sits on it , will help some.

Febreze spray. a fabric deodorizer will help.
