There are many reasons two people decide to marry. But one thing I know for sure, is if we have any strange feelings of doubt....could indicate a red flag so to speak on putting a marriage on hold....or not at all, with this one particular person. Some people will say for sure, we definitely wouldn't ask this question when we feel we have found true love. But most peoples thoughts or fantasy of love and marriage are normally fantasies...Now I do agree that having someone loving, caring, thoughtful, respectful, trustworthy, patient, understanding, forgiving, wanting similar things in life as you dream of...is something to always cherish...It does sometimes depend on the length of time 2 people have known each other, it also may not matter how long you have known each other...It depends on how bad a person wants a marriage, hopefully for all the right reasons, how willing a person wants to share ones self completely with another...there are many wonderful aspects of marriage, there will be troublesome times, and unbelievable moments and times...but with that said it all depends on what we want...and what we are willing to take on...if you feel close enough to your friend, then you might bring up some of these questions and ideas....Best wishes to your friend...
~Peace~

Marriage makes an incomplete human being a complete one. It makes him/her a grown up and gives him/her responsibilities whether those responsibilities are to feed and clothe the wife or to assist the husband. Marriage is supposed to take a person out of the hectic lifestyle that one is in and place him or her in an organized environment giving them a path to follow in life and a shoulder to lean on. In short marriage arranges one’s life.

If he has no idea why he is getting married, he should not. No sense in ruining the lives of 2 people and then brining children into that kind of mess.

To share your life with the person you love. To show that you are willing to make a lifelong commitment and the relationship you are now going to share together. And to follow in the traditions of our parents and the society that we live in. Sorry to say, divorce is just about as much as a tradition as marriage now.

I'm not married so I guess I don't know the answer to that question.
Maybe because you want to be with just one person and you hope it's for life.
