what is i mean is, for example : now i'm surfing the net , but after sometimes the modem will get heat. So, whether the modem is opening 24 hours or closing without 24hrs

Although you question is not quite clear.....nothing major will happen but will reduce the life span of the modem . However, you don't necessarily have to switch it off after use just leave it on unless you are not going to use it for long time.

I see no need to do power down, but no one is stopping you from doing so.

I don't exactly care since they are rentals from the subscription anyway; some doctorate in electricity employeed by the ISPs must figure it was OK to begin with to be constant-on. In fact they talked about power cycling (off then on) as a troubleshoot method not regularly.
