The internet is full of these type of stories of exploding seagulls. The variants are: Alka Seltzer, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda on bread, bread soaked in vinegar, bread soaked in any carbonated fluid, raw bread dough, rice, the bass notes of a loud boom box. For every webpage where it states that seagulls can be exploded in this way, there is another page debunking the idea. I think it's an urban myth, otherwise it would be a well-known popular pastime for teenage boys in coastal towns.

not achieveable. look on the chook's anatomy. It swallows nutrition and gadgets (yeah, not consistently nutrition) into its crop, an organ contained in the throat section, which receives distended even as finished. The crop has some digestive fluids in it (chook spit, with the point to communicate) and the chook mushes up nutrition in there to regurgitate it into the mouth of its chick or mate. Birds are made to regurgitate. If the chook swallows something that seems now to not be digestible, and under no circumstances useful for grinding up its nutrition (they swallow rocks for this) then the chook will in basic terms regurgitate it. They do all of it the time. So how is fizzy alka seltzer going to reason a catastrophe? it would want to overflow, to be positive, and may want to briefly intervene with digestion (because it does in human beings) by employing neutralizing abdomen acid. i'm really positive that as quickly because it all started fizzing, the chook might want to spit it out. No harm finished.

Baking Powder blows them up, I suppose Alka Seltzer might do the same, or it might just cure their hangover.

No. Otherwise city officials in many coastal towns would use this as a method of killing unwanted flocks in outdoor restaurant patio and in front of retail store parking lots. It would also be used on unwanted massive pigeon flocks all over the world's big cities and parks.
