that sucks..i was planning on buying some uk imports. My dvd player is region 1 =(

Nope. Only in Europe, Australia and Japan.

...unless you have a Region 2 or multi-region DVD player.

Additionally, most DVD players these days seem to have a 'Region unlock' button code that allows you to enable multi-region DVD viewing on them.

Look up your DVD player model on Google and see if you can find the unlock code. It's worth a shot, there are some pretty good UK only comedy DVDs.

I know with my laptop it asks me which region would I like to chose for that specific dvd player. But unless you have a multi regional dvd player it probably won't work.

on a computer DVD player it may do - I have played DVD's from the UK, without any sort of prompting at all.

On a regular DVD player, it'd need to be an all regions player, or you would need the escape/cheat code.

if u buy a multi-coded dvd player, then can play all dvd regardless of its regional code, just like mine.....um

Mine says region 1

You might wanna check,i found a hack for my player that enables it to play all regions
