Depends on the company/country & what type of work you will be doing. 16 is be bare minimum, but 18 to do most things e.g bar work. If in United States water territory you have to be 21 to serve alcohol.

Hello, 1st of all good luck with your career choice, and go for it! I am only 32 and have missed too many chances to have the career I wanted.
I think you have to be 18 and have a good skill, ie, beautician, hairdresser etc. You could contact a cruise company and ask them for careers advice, I am sure they will help.
Maybe one day we shall see you sailing the seas......just don't turn into Jane McDonald!!! PLEASE!!

At least 18. And I would try Norwegian Cruises. They are so much nicer than the tacky Carnival.

Having just returned from the most fantastic medditeranean voyage and having met both the captain and his 12 year old chambermaid I believe the answer is 9.
