We all seem to have different perceptions of common sense. I read a newspaper article about a woman that drove her car into a lake while following directions on her navigation system. Now you'd think that she'd have the common sense not to trust it if it was telling her to drive into a lake!. Unfortunately she took the stance that you have to "trust expensive things...it's common sense". You're so right, common sense just isn't all that common afterall!

What is thought to be common sense to one person is a waste of time to another, maybe that's why some people go through life blaming anything and anyone for what goes wrong simply because they have no common sense and some people just don't think they need common sense.

Some people have minds that are not flexible and can't perceive things in the way that you call a "common sense" approach. That is following the rule and ignoring the spirit in doing things. Having common sense means being able to adapt and to be flexible where necessary.

everyone has own common sense in their mind, common sense is in terms of experiences, so next time when people ask this kind of question, then you can answer them "hey~ come on, it's just common sense!"

Because over time, education has become so diluted with all the junk on tv and society in general being deluded as to what's important to know and what's not, that Intelligence has taken a back seat to politics, and self-deluded idealogies. In simple English for those that don't comprehend.. The world has become a mass of dumbed down adults numb to all that's happening around them. Best of luck to you and yours...

Because people are affected, and are pawns to, social, cultural and political influences. They drive us to make silly decisions, or to interpret other people's ideas as foolish. Its part of the human condition to belittle others to supplant a personal ideology. Shame, isnt it?

PS What a silly question. Nah, just kidding.
