News Item, according to studies on domestic violence, the day with the highest amount of domestic violence against women is Super Bowl Sunday. No such study exist.
News Item. 99% of children on welfare is because their fathers refuse to pay child support. Over 15% of children on welfare rolls belong to intact families, and according to Judge David Grey Ross, Head of the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement under Clinton stated that the majority of fathers pay their court ordered child support in full.
News item, every 13 seconds a woman is battered by an abusive partner or spouse. They leave out that every 14 seconds a man is battered by an abusive partner or spouse.
News item, females whose mothers had breast cancer have increased chances of developing the disease. They leave out that females whose father has precancerous or cancerous tumors have over a 90% chance of getting the disease. Sure, only 5% of the "known" cases of breast cancer are in men, but a study done by the Oncology Dept of Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City put the rate closer to 15%, because usually the men die quickly as it moves into the lungs, making it look like they died of lung cancer, instead.
Consider the number of women who could have been warned, provided they know who their father is. With 1/2 of all children being born outside of wedlock, a large number of mothers cannot clearly indentify the father, so medical histories are not available.

I believe in the old saying, believe nothing that you read and only half of what you see. However, there are people who believe all that and kids that believe the behavior on sitcoms, etc. are OK and that's kind of scary.

No I don't think they actually tell lies but I do however think they don't have all the facts at hand all the time and might even exaggerate things a bit...
