Are you discribing yourself based upon what you do for a living?( I'm a doctor, a lawyer, etc.) or upon what your family status is ( a mother, sister, son) or you are what you love to do ( runner, a ball player, a dancer) Do you describe yourself by priority?

Interesting question, one that I chew on daily. There is a list of about 14 things that describe me (a few more or less for others), like: human, female, american, mother, daughter, friend, doctor, Texan, reader, thinker, cycling enthusiast, amateur horticulturist, and a few other identifiers that I don't want to add, and you probably wouldn't be interested in anyway. The order of the list may change slightly day to day.

What I ponder about this is what order someone would prioritize all their identifiers, probably would say a lot about their character and tell you much about their value systems. If I ever found myself in front of a college classroom, that is one of the first assignments I would issue, as I think it would give me a lot of insight into each student. It would also make them think, in a way that could not be copied, cut and pasted, or plaguarized in any way. A novel idea, don't you agree?

I am me. When it comes to describing myself, I can never pin it down in one word.
