There are these crazy things called Jump Soles ( http://www.jump-soles.com/ )that you strap to your toes and do drills and exercises in that srengthen your muscles like calves and glutes that help you jump. They work well. I worked in a sports shoe store and had people come back raving about them.

Also you have to work out "fast twitch" muscles. Someone that can squat 250 25 times can probably jump higher than someone that can squat 350 once, even if that first person can't squat 350.

one thing you dont hear much about when one speaks about jumping...

a lot of jumping and jumping higher than the next guy is the knowledge of how much upper body strength figures into how high one can jump.

as a former swimmer, i was always one of the best jumpers in basketball because of my powerful upper body strength.

strong lats (pull downs) and push ups for the chest are great areas to concentrate on in addition to the leg training.

running stairs is still the best endurance builder for leg strength.

Try jumping on a trampoline. Jumping on a trampoline may have helped improve my vertical leap. I can dunk two handed on a ten foot basketball hoop.

Well i do.I practise jumping at home.Try squatting down and jump around yr house 100 times.It helps alot
