Yes i totally agree.
The average lady in the UK is like a 14/16, these are the people who will eventually by the high-st version of these clothes anyway.

Yes, I think the Madrid Government was right to ban the stick thin sickly looking models because in real life how many girls are naturally stick thin. Not many will be the answer in reply to the above question. In real life if you diet for your looks it leads to big medical problems in later life. That doesn't mean to say you should eat junk food either. Your own metabolism decides whether you will be skinny or obese but it also depends on the sort of healthy diet you eat as well.

Heck yeah. Do we allow women with anorexia to teach our children? No, they are taken off to the side and given help. So, why would we parade these sickly thin women around on stage as the ideal of beauty? And why would we be surpised when the Nicole Richie's of the world try to achieve that?
I think the people in Madrid should be applauded. I laughed when I read about the Modeling agencies protesting - "it is going to limit the careers of women who are naturally that size". I didn't see them minding limiting the careers of women that were a healthy size though.

I think women of all sizes shapes and colours should be allowed onto the catwalks. Ive never agreed with the stick thin ones they use to advertise and flaunt themselves to model the designer labels of this world.
I think they should give everyone the opportunity to strut down the catwalk because clearly it's causing more and more problems for parents of annorexic children. Society needs a swift kick up the bum as far as advertising and modelling goes.
It's unrealistic.

That would be good. I don't know that models should be 'normal' women as such, the fact that they are slender and particularly beautiful is rather wonderful, but I would like to see slightly curvier models - more like in the days of Tatijana Patiz and Cindy Crawford being the Supermodels - still very slim and stunning but looked natural and had curves. The whole super-skinny look is not healthy as a role model and not really that attractive in my opinion.

Yes iagree totally. I mean some are saying the models could naturally be thin, not as thin as some of the models they have there collar bones and bones in there legs sticking out, they are seriously shocking. I went on a website once about eating disorders and they had all these people, models mainly and celebs, calling them thier "thinspiration"
Sick.

I think overall this is a good thing as most of these underweight models are not naturally thin, they either starve themselves or use drugs to keep themselves thin. But what about those models who are naturally thin?- they could find themselves out of work through no fault of there own. I think rather than ban these thin models they should introduce some sort of heath monitoring and drug testing within the industry.

Good on the spanish for once there actually doing something right.Models of today are way to thin (sizes 10 to 12uk are perfect).Very thin almost anorexic models set a bad example to young girls who grow up thinking its normal to look like a stick insect.

Models are meant, by definition, to be attractive, so if they look "sickly ill" they're not up to the job! Strange tho how so many replies talk about anorexia and how people should be accepted no matter what their size, when the western world has an obesity crisis - i agree no one should be encouraged to starve themselves, but there should still be some pressure to appear (well, be) healthy.

Yes I think they were right but models will always be thin - look at Twiggy in the 60's. If they had normal sized models the clothes don't hang so well on them. But I think abnormaly thin models should not be allowed
