For even though you achieved the desired end of failing you still set your sights on a goal that has no purpose and you have furthered yourself in life by nothing and wasted your time on something that you could have been beneficial to eather yourself or mankind.

If I have "tried" to faiI and succeeded (in failing)...I have then, "succeeded to fail".
BUT.....
If I have tried to fail and succeeded instead then I have failed to fail but succeeded nonetheless.
