You need to be in building mode for that. The one where you can draw walls for new houses, etc. Once you are in building mode, then use the hand tool and pick the stairs. It should delete real easy.

This is a good question!!! I have only been able to figure out how to delete the ones wit 2 steps but not a whole flight of stairs!

Go into "BUY" mode.
Select the "hand" or "grab" option
click and drag your stairs to the bottom of the screen and they will be sold, your sim will pocket the profits

hit enter, and that will bring up the chat bot. type in STRSBGON and then hit enter again to activate cheatcode, the stairs will be gone forever! somehow this doesnt work with v3.0.4, must be a flaw in the update patch. happy simming!
