Some of the disabled have a working spouse who pays for that car.
Some disabled people are able to work at a desk and earn a decent living, they just can't run the New York marathon.

rrxdeadman is quite mistaken, the checks on disability are very thorough, nobody gets a disability allowance without being examined, poked and prodded many times.
The motor industry does quite well out of `Motability` , it is a contract hire system and it has allowed many previously housebound people to get out and about.
It allows some of those less fortunate than ourselves to have a little bit of normality.

Just because someone is disabled doesn't mean they can't make a good living.
BTW, the mobility allowance is only provided in the UK and Australia. It's a small sum of money to aid them in the cost of getting to medical appointments, etc.

Do you really wish for a new car badly enough to become disabled to get one?
A lot of disabled people are productive members of society and hold jobs and everything!!!!!

Do you resent disbaled people being able to get about? why should you? Being disabled is not about living in style. It is about trying as best one can to cope with the demands of a busy life in spite of a disability.

No, I am disabled and I have an old clunker. Some folks who are disabled have others drive them places and take their placard along. When you are blind or disabled and can't drive, you can use your placard in anyone's car that drives you somewhere.
