I guess it was a sci fi film

This isn't John Malkovich, Cube, Sliders, Star Trek, Cartoon films, or Matrix. It wasn't a horror film. The guy came home one day and as he walked thru the door his home became some-place in the desert.(I think) Later in the film he got to a cafe or something and when he went in he ended up somewhere else again. This was how the film went on. I think there were a couple of girls who were causing the changes or trying to help him and it was a race against time to get back to the begining.

Sounds like the Matrix 2: Reloaded! Neo kept going through doors that turned into a different "world"

You gotta be more descriptive, your question is a bit vague. Is this portal-travelling the main part of the story, or is it just a small scene in the movie? What did the guy look like? Describe the portal thing...etc

The Trial by Franz Kafka.I think that the most recent version was made in 2001 and features Kyle Mc Lachlan as Joseph and Anthony Hopkins as the Priest.Screenplay was by Harold pinter. It is about a man who is arrested and prosecuted but he does not know what for.Echoes of happenings in Today's Britain and more especially America.

Sounds like The Cube. But this was a group of people going through doors. One by one they were killed off and until one was left, and he found himself on the outside. Very strange film, and they then made a sequel, which I could not even bring myself to watch!

yeah i agree with evi..but apart frm Sliders, Quantum Leap had kinda the same sci-fi dimension leap thingy. But in that movie the hero doesnt necessarily need a door as he leaps frm one body to the next..hehe ..Oh wow..i do miss watching both!
