When you adopt, you take something on as a part of you.

Adapt, is when you are getting adapt to a new surrownding!
Adopt, Is when you adopt, your' mates kids, or you adopt a new pet!

adopt: To take by choice into relationship, as, child, heir, friend, citizen, etc.
