There are new ipods coming out but I don't catch too much attention on that. They should create something to compete with PocketPC. BTW Newton was quit good but too expensive. Base on today's technology, they should be able to make the price down to compete with PocketPC.

The iPhone, when it comes out, may very well have some PDA functionalities. But PDAs are a declining industry. People just don't want to carry a cellphone, a laptop, a PDA, and an MP3 player. Most people are looking to have simple PDA functions (scheduling, email, etc.) built into the cellphones.

Apple also announced iTV yesterday. Although it won't be available for a while, and it won't have a significant impact for even longer, it could very well be a catalyst for (finally) linking home entertainment with the computer - something not yet done well with existing software/hardware. iTV should be much more significant in boosting Apple's fortunes than another handheld tablet.

Err...have you seen the new Intel Macs that came out in February? The ones that will run Mac OS, Windows OS, heck, throw Linux on if you want? Or the Mac Minis? Fully functioning computer the size of a lunchbox, and cheaper than most PC's?

Yes, the iPod is cool, but getting a bit tired. My wife's Powerbook is ok, but it is just a laptop with a better OS. I would like to see something newer and cooler from Apple. A real portable video player would be a start, but not really much of a leap.

Apparently Apple have patented a PDA interface - I suspect one is in development but first the world will know is when it goes on sale
