I was in a long distance relation for quite a while, but yes we did get the chance to be together in person. We were hopelessly in love, but then one day he said he didn't love me anymore and told me that a long distance relationship was just too hard.

I'm over him now, but I sometimes wonder what would happen if we met again. I plan to do some travelling in a year, and I'm debating whether or not I should pay him a visit. It could end up being the best thing I'll ever do for myself, or it could end up being a waste of time and money. Do you think it would be worth it to go see an old love just to see if something happens between us again?

I know I could love him again, and I'm pretty sure he could too, even though he may ignore his feelings when the time comes.

First you need to find out if he has any commitments. If not, contact him and see if he thinks it's a good idea. People don't like those kinds of surprises. I have known couples who got divorced and then remarried years later. You never know what could happen.

Well yes that can happen. I was in a relationship for three years a long time ago. We broke up. Not so much because I didn't love him anymore, but somehow it didn't work out. I started dating, he started dating, he got married I got into several long lasting relationships. We didn't see each other for ten years or so. He got a divorce and started going out again. We met again and were friends for a couple of years. Then the feelings came back but better than before. I had matured, he had matured and four weeks ago we bought a house together. It really feels soooo good to be together again. Funny thing is that when we broke up I send him a card with some kind of poem that ended with: "and maybe someday, when it's really really right, our paths will cross again". He still has that card. So it can happen. If I were you, I would go traveling first though. See what happens. When you come back you can visit him. Maybe as a last part of you travels. If the love is there, it'll be there after you've traveled.

The truth that you are talking together with her again and being pleasant is a relatively good begin. I'd now not put the whole lot you've into it. Be pleasant and high-quality to her. Maybe capture up once more. Its a really constructive factor that you are speakme but depart it like that in the interim. When its right some time down the track you might like to mention your emotions for her - but down the monitor. This difficulty offers a further opportunity at setting up a first-rate relationship once more - no longer a marriage or anything but an possibility to be friends. She wishes to be associates thats what she meant by way of now not reading to so much into it - so be in your toes with that. Neighbors are excellent - its better to be pals and have your fealings then enemies and the speaking is optimistic. Simply watch out and go sluggish. No dreaming just be there. You share a daughter and a few excellent times - excellent luck.

Some people I know have broken up over and over again, and even some of those people have made it work, finally. I know that it's possible. Personally, when I look back at my relationships and breakups, there are some people I wouldn't have broken up with given the choice, but there's not a single one that I think we would have had a chance to re-kindle it once it went out the first time. You might be one of the lucky few, but I think your focus would be better spent on finding someone new.

It's always nice to see an old flame, as long as the past is firmly in the past and you don't go in with preconceptions. Make sure that you're sure it's been long enough for you to be yourself around them again.

The chances are quite big.Everytihing is possible. If the partners rediscover what made them fall in love for the first time, they have high chances to get back together again.
