I know that studies are not conclusive but do you think walking or sitting would be the lesser of 2 "evils"?

While there are conceivable causes of a breach baby, it seems unlikely that there is an actual cause, and that we seek to find a cause to give ourselves comfort that we can avoid. My daughter was breach and I think the mother did nothing unusual. When you consider all the complications that can occurr in a pregnancy, a baby being upside down seems not only minor, but normal. Why shouldn't a fetus be oriented down at birth, and what physiological systems could possibly assure that this would happen. None could. Knowing that a baby will probably come out normal of its own accord, and that it's a pretty ordinary occurrence if it does not should be enough. Everything will be alright I assure you.

My son was breech until his 38wk check - I was told that big babies have a tendency to be breech because they're too big to turn. He came out @ 9lbs2ozs - so kind of big I guess. That said, I was a breech - and I was only 7lbs12ozs! I'm not sure there's an exact cause - some babies just don't turn round - and it seems more common in 1st pregnancies. I was offered a proceedure where they manually turn baby through massaging the tummy @37wks - I refused because of possible complications or distressing the baby - but it can help. I was also told to kneel on all 4's a lot in the last week. I did this and he did turn - but he turned the wrong way and I ended up giving birth when he was back to back and then he became wedged! In hind sight I wish I'd had the C Section!!

my daughter turned just before I went into labor. I was really concerned because my son turned at like 35 weeks I believe and the doctor was not concerned at all but she turned just before they induced at 38 1/2 weeks.
