I don't think it was mental abuse, it was more like
don't promise me something you can't keep!
As in action speaks talk is cheap.
He can talk the talk but can't do the walk, seems
to me he is more like a manipulator!

Emotional abuse is behavior used by your spouse/loved one to degrade u as a human being, call u verbally abusive names and humiliate and belittle u in front of friends, family members and strangers or hurting those u love, knowing this will hurt u in turn. It is any act that attempts to destroy your very being emotionally until u have nothing left of yourself.

I don't know if what u said in your question qualifies as emotional abuse because u did not give much info.

mental and emotional abuse are one in the same, mental is when they put you down all the time and tell you that you are a piece of crap, will never amount to anything, tell you one thing then do something else, keeps you on an emotional rollercoaster

emotional abuse is when the other person lets say your boyfriend is talking negavtive things about you. those words he's saying hurts u and affects you in so many levels. that is emotional abuse. for me this is just the same with physical abuse because it is harder to heal a broken soul and heart than to heal physical injuries.. i felt this a lot of times when my husband talks **** to me and it traumatizd me. dont let it happen to you..
dont let ur boyfriend abuse you fight for your right as a person.
luck..

Emotional abuse is putting you down, talking bad about you, making you believe things you don't, talking you into things you don't agree on, playing with your mind, not keeping promises,

Get a legal rights booklet-they'll tell you the basics (and maybe more!)

Emotional abuse means that he is making you feel bad about yourself. Is he saying hateful things to you, or just saying he will change?

if you feel confused and upset and it stops you from making plans or living a normal life it probably is mental or emotional abuse. I definately is a unreliable a***h***.get rid of him and dont look back. dont let anything he says affect you anymore. Put some distance between you and him.

Yes, you have definitely been mentally and emotionally abused. Sometimes, this stays with you much longer than physical abuse, so please seek counseling if you need it. And good for you, for kicking his butt to the curb!
