Skill wise there is no comparison. Kobe is the best all around player in the NBA. Yes, Shaq and Wade won a championship together but you can't knock Kobe for the fact that Laker management couldn't get him any quality big men. Shaq is the best center in the league - even with his diminished abilities. Wade is a top 5 player. How would Kobe do with at the very least, a top 5 center? Not to mention someone like KG or TD or Amare or Dirk.

Kobe is the best all-around player. I don't think he can be called the best offensive and defensive player. But YES, the all around best player, and that's what counts. A true champion overcomes obstacles. Kobe went through a lot on and off the court. We all know. But did he let it affect his game? No he didn't. He came back stronger than before. Look what he's done since all the personal distractions. Kobe has a lot more to offer the NBA. And that 19 yr. rookie that walked on the court way back when....is now a much more mature ball player. He deserves some serious PROPS.

I believe that Kobe is the best player right now. We all know he is the best scorer in the NBA, but a lot of people overlook his defensive skills. When he wants to be he can be an All NBA defensive player first teamer every year.

My current belief is that Kobe is not the best player in the NBA, but he, just like anyone, has rhe potential to become the best. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Steve Nash are high on my list for best player.

How about some respek for the guy that won a championship?? D-Wade does all of the little things that will boost a team and put them on a championship level. Maybe if Kobe got a better supporting cast I could make a case for him but they got beaten down in game 7 against the Phx Suns--the most overrated team so I have lost all hope for the lakers.
