Rapists and child molesters are at the bottom of the heap when it comes to prisons... homosexuals get more respect than rapists and child molesters! There is a general belief among many in law enforcement that a great many criminals in prisons were either sexually abused (or raped) or know of relatives that were, and they WILL kill them. Even if someone was simply ACCUSED, whether innocent or not, that person is in danger of being killed in prison!

Convicted felons operate under a moral code that places rapists and child molesters 3 steps below pond scum. Despite the fact that they chose to break the law, many criminals believe that someone who preys on women and children is especially bad. As such, if these offenders were in the general prison population, they would become victims. While this may seem fair, I would say that allowing the inmates to dole out justice undermines the purpose of our legal system. As such, most sexual predators are kept in isolation for their own safety.

I don't know about rapists being kept from the general population, but child molesters are separated from the general population for their own safety. I say put them in the general population and let the other criminals eat their lunch every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I didn't know that they did. Seems silly, the other inmates are already beating or raping SOMEONE, it might as well be the child molesters. I don't see why they should get any immunity, or why their safety should be a higher priority. Jail's jail. Everyone should have equal protection under the law. That is, no special treatment.

I was just released from prison and believe it or not allot of the S*** bag child molesters are in general pop and are paying rent meaning they pay anther inmate for protection the ones who don't have money to pay get beat on a daily basis till they "Check in" ask for PC (protective custody) then after they commit anther jail house sin and rat on the person or people beating on them they get moved for there own safety and that's when a couple people get together and some one from GP heads to PC and beats them some more so have no fear those scum bag pieces of crap get what they deserve

Usually because they are so badly hated by other inmates, even murders, that child molestors are very likely to be killed by other prisoners. And while that may be appealing to some people, it cuts against the concept of the justice system.

The persons who really suffer from their crimes are the victims!! They get a life sentence with no parole..While they get a 10 year sentence, up for parole in 5...They have a private cell with a TV, and in this case a trust fund set up for them.. When you loose your home, family, a marriage of 30 years. and health. Justice is a joke! The price is to high for victims, no help for them..All kinds of help for the molester to help fit back in to society.

Because even inmates think that child molesting is the lowest form of crime and would probably kill them.

Because the other criminals will rape or kill them, it sounds like a good idea to me. Kill them instead of letting them go free.
