This is a very common problem. And the more you try to get rid of it, the more it gets stuck !
Instead chase it ! Only, the chasing requires no effort, just be a silent, non-reacting, non-participating witness to it when it comes ! If you do it right, you will notice that it fades gently, and the re-surfacing occurs after a longer time than previously !
This way, you will have the freedom to recall the song at will !
Try it with patience.
And, please do not nurture any blame on memory or brain. You have both in very good condition, as is quite obvious from the quality and formation of the question.

It's like my brain "hiccups or skips" I hate when that happens! Over and over I can think of and hear the lyrics! What's worse, when someone asks "Who sings that?" or "When did that come out?"... worse still "What's the band members names?" "Is he still alive?
Find a word in the song and focus on another song pertaining to that word.
Actually there is no way to stop this without starting you on another song. Sorry

I have this problem, too, especially when I am trying to get to sleep
and a song I absolutely hate starts playing in my brain (Kelly
Clarkson????) Sometimes I just have to bore myself to sleep,
can't count sheep or else I start doing math, so I have to concentrate on just repeating the number 1 over and over.
Or I try to read until my eyes glaze over.
During the day, find something else to distract, like turning
on the radio or TV, pick up a book that can catch your total
attention......Try singing another song that you do like.....One
of my friends swears that if you sing the song in your head all
the way thru, then you can get rid of it, but that doesn't work
for me.

Just sing the song until you get bored, then it will go off eventually.

Reduce your stress. Music helps to releive stress/boredom, so when you replay it in your head, you are probably stressed or just bored.
