They feel this because they want to hide their own racism, when was the last time you heard a black person get on TV {other then Bill Cosby, and thank you Bill} and say "The problems we have are own making, when we stop blaming whites and other for this we can move on." I have never seen them saying anything close to this. Now the yellowed eye grease ball sitting on the corner with a crack pipe is his hands, gets arrested, then sues for being arrested because the cop was keeping an eye on him because he must be racist. The most racist group of people on earth are the blacks. You card them in a club, your carding me cause I am black. You walk by them, oh hell no whitey isn't, no way gettin front of mee! Hellz nah. You take a sh it in your own home, they find a reason for that to be racist to. The problem here is white people fought so long to make everything equal, and better for the blacks, that they forgot to keep fighting for themselves. I am against any special treatment for any reason. Tear down the black colleges, be rid of the black college funds. Lets take these places and fund and make them for every one! Oh wait making something that everyone can enjoy.....would be racist.

I think you're right mate. I'm a white man married to a black woman and she is really irritated when some black people blame any hiccup in their lives upon something that happened 150 years ago. There have been many forms of slavery practised by all races (Romans, Greeks, Arabs inter alia) but you don't hear their victims excusing their own failings by blaming everyone else for their problems. No-one should racially slur anyone. Shave off the skin and we're all the same underneath, and we all have to share this planet. We only get 75 years or so each of life, so we should try not to spend them squabbling over trivialities. Red blue and orange Smarties all look different. But they are still smarties, and they still taste the same. (That's if they sell them where you are, of course!!)

Even though you already asked this very same question five days ago, I'll give you the same answer I gave you then...
I don't know what kind of Black people you've been exposed to, but I (as well as many other Black people I know) don't think it's okay to call a White person out like that, nor do I think that it's okay for White people to do the same to us (and I don't think us Black folks should be calling each other that word either, but that's another topic altogether). One thing you have to remember is that not all Black people (including myself) think or act the way you've described. A lot of us are honest, hard-working people just like you. Sadly, it is true that some Black people use the "race card" as an intimidation tactic to get their way (but then again, so do other people with the "rich card," the "language card," the "religion card," the "sexual orientation card," etc.). I personally don't approve of that at all, and unfortunately the people that do this don't realize that every time they wrongly take advantage a person of another race, it only makes them bitter and resentful and ultimately, it makes them apathetic to the fact that racism still exists. In other words, there's only so many times a person can cry "wolf" (or in this case, "racism") before people stop believing them, and it's unfortunate that the actions of some Black people are only feeding the problem. The Black people that falsely accuse other people of racism make it that much harder for those same people to believe those of us that aren't wrongly taking advantage of the system when we tell them of our true experiences with racism. Because of them, Black people in general are accused of "overreacting" or being "overly sensitive" or "looking too deeply" into certain situations, and our accounts of racial injustice are brushed off as nonsense and looked upon as fiction. And it's behavior like this from both sides that isn't helping us get any closer to ending this ugly legacy of racism.
You're right, racism is wrong no matter what color your skin is, and fortunately society has advanced well beyond the social ideas of the pre-1900's era for the most part. However, even over 100 years after slavery, racism and discrimination towards Black people still exists today, mainly because some unenlightened people choose to hold on to the negative attitudes of the past. That's why I think it's important to judge people as individuals as opposed to relying on ridiculous stereotypes and wide-sweeping generalizations. It saves all of us more stress in the long run.
p.s. - And to "The Skeptic," while you may believe you've made a valid point, all you've really done by posting that insulting (and highly inaccurate) pseudo-intellectual nonsense is prove that you are unmistakably racist. Anyone with any decency and common sense can see that statements like "I admire Hitler" and your shameless shout out, "88" (which in Neo-Nazi/KKK speak means "Hail Hitler") discredit you from being objective or respectful when discussing issues concerning race.
And as far as your statement that "most folks are not even capable of independent rational thought," you might want to take a look in the mirror. People like yourself who follow and perpetuate the vulgar propaganda and cultish ideas of the Neo-Nazis and the KKK have no business calling anyone else "mindless sheep."

I just read through these comments, and thanks to the people that were able to show some intelligence; the majority of the comments pretty much just put people's ignorance on display.
First, as it was stated, there are plenty of black people in the world that are not looking for a handout nor do they feel like white people owe them anything. Yes, black people need to stop tripping on slavery, because that is in the past. However, there are things that happened in the past that still have repercussions in the future. And we, as Americans need to accept this fact and do what we can to fix it.
Secondly, racism is the reason that there are black magazines and black channels and black colleges and college funds. If blacks had been able to, in the past, be in the same magazines and on the same stations as whites, there would not be a need for us to create our own forms of media. The same thing applies with colleges. If blacks had been able to get the same treatment in colleges and universities, we would not have had to build our own schools and create our own funds to get higher education. And for the record, if whites decide to go to a black colleges, they are considered minorities and get minority funds, the same that blacks get if they go to predominantly white schools.
I think the problem here is that whites tried for the longest time to repress blacks and other minorities, and we fought back. Yes, there are whites that gave their lives for the cause, but compared to the number of blacks that died (and most of them for just being black)......nobody was fighting harder for the black man than the black man. We as a race have made a lot of progress, and I think that's what the problem is. It's just like with anything else that a person has control over; when you lose that control, you want to find another way to exert your power. There was slavery, and when that was abolished, there was Jim Crow. Now there are just ignorant people that want to complain about a few black people instead of looking at the majority of blacks that don't fit into these stereotypes.
There is always a white and black to everything. Think of all the schools were whites are predominant or there are no blacks at all. Think of all the scholarships that blacks can't get because they are a minority. Think of all the blacks that have been followed around in stores just because they are blacks. Think of all the blacks that weren't allowed to play with children because their parents didn't want them playing with black kids. Think of all the jobs that blacks go up for and don't get because of their skin color. And this isn't just limited to blacks. It's all minorities. So what happens? If America won't let us do it, then we do it on our own. If blacks can't go to this particular school, we build our own schools. If blacks can't get this or that scholarship, we start our own funding programs. BET was started because MTV, at the time, would not air black music videos. Ebony and Essence magazines were started because the magazines that were out at the time did not contain anything relevant to a black audience. So before you or anybody else starts complaining about what blacks have, it would be smart to find out WHY we have these things and WHO prompted us to create the things that we have. And before you or anybody else complains about the race card or any stereotype, it would be smart to think about whether every black person is like that or whether it's the limited few that you've actually had exposure to. Because questions like the ones that you posed just show your own ignorance.
And for the record, whites slur blacks all the time. They just don't have the courage to do it openly the way that blacks do. And there is no term in the english language that is as emotionally detrimental to whites or has the history that the word NI**ER does.
If we could all just let go of this racist crap, the world would be better. But it'll always be here because there will always be ignorant people in the world to keep it going. Because the one thing that I have noticed is that the most racist people in the world are normally the most ignorant and uneducated. Read a book.

I am a respectable black woman originally from Philadelphia, now living in California and I agree with you in a way. I agree that we as black Americans should stop "blaming the white man" for all of the problems, and trying to gain sympathy because of something that didn't happen to us but that our great and great-great grandparents went thru. But on the other hand, sometimes there are blatant examples of racism and I'm not talking about Rodney King or any other dumb a$$ that brought crap on themselves. Hell, I may be one of the very few black people that actually believed that O.J. was guilty of getting his wife and Ron Goldman killed. All I'm saying is that every race could "pull the race card" and claim discrimination because, in some way shape or form, we all hate on each other, it's just that it's more see-able in the black community because some of us refuse to pull ourselves out of the gutter and see beyond the corner so for some of us, it's easier to "blame" someone else for our short comings. At the same time, there are those that see beyond the corner and drug dealing and glorifying goofy sh*t in videos but still can't get the come-up because the next man or the man in a better position (not necessarily white cause we dog the hell out of our own) won't see that kid's potential beyond the corner and the drug dealing and the glorification of goofy sh*t in videos. Sorry that was so long and I hope that I answered you question adequately.

Racial slurrs are Wrong no matter what race you are. I agree with what Lena said. And to that I'd like to add..... Find A New Excuse!! Stop playing race cards, stop being racist yourself, stop thinking that if someone doesn't like you it's because of your race. A jerk is a jerk is no matter what race they are. The only people I'd have to say I'm prejudiced against are stupid, lazy people. To them I say, Get A Grip, Get A Clue, Get A Life! Whatever race you may be.

racism is totally wrong no matter who says it or uses it.
As for the N word.......well have pyhsically removed people from my house for using that word but wish EVERYONE would stop using it.if its so flipping offensive to the average black person then why do they use it so freely and its pretty much in every song you hear. either we all can use it or no one can, and from what I have been told by several elder black men they find the word offensive period end.............younger ones say that it is so the hate and the hurt is taken from the word but surely that not the case when it comes out of ANY ONES mouth its nasty.
WOW & what a GREAT statement to the lady above me and her comments WELL DONE, I have never heard anyone be more nasty about a black person than another black person and I was stunned when it came out of their mouth...............when I told them that what they had said was horrid they just laughed and said well the dumb nnnnnnnnn deserved it [same person i removed from my house i might add]

First off, yes, it is getting ridiculous. People of all races just need to get over the racists bull-sh*t. It doesn't help that there are the Jesse Jacksons out there that make it even worse. I am sick of it as well. But do remember, there are a lot of black people in the world, and just because the ones that b*tch are the ones getting all the attention, doesn't mean that most of them are like this. There are just as many black people as white people that act respectful and don't act or talk like this. Just like the racists white groups make people believe we are all racist. When in fact there are more people that are NOT racist. Unfortunately stereotypes are made for a reason, it's just not the majority of the people that set them.

I'm sorry if you feel this way, but I don't think that I went through HALF or even an eighth of what my ancestors have been through. Who said racially slurring whites was ok? I don't think it is. Yes, a lot of black people get away with doing this, but you are not the only ones black people pick on. And I would never slur anyone! So I don't know why you think all black people think this is ok, cause they don't all. So, as white people tell me all the time "get over it!"
Just to let you know, I didn't forget about native ameircans. No one has!

well every black is not like that. i don't feel like I'm owed anything but we are treated very differently. i have a friend that we went every where together and when she would go to the bank with me , the grocery store, anywhere. you could see the difference in the way we where treated. it was like; when she went to get her checks cashed they would say, " hello how are you doing?" when i made it to the cashier i would get no greeting. well i am not complaining but it is just the truth. i had my third grade teacher slap me for pushing a white boy back, she said she didn't she him push me. have you ever experienced that? well it is not a good feeling. but i truly understand if someone is doing something wrong you tell on them they shouldn't be mad. it is not a black thing but just plain being miss-treated for being black is a different thing. when we are totally treated the same then that is when i will believe that it is fair in America. hey who ever bought the blacks over to America could have left us their. i love everybody! i have dated white men and they are just as good in bed as a black man. i didn't like the looks you get when your out with some one that is not of your same race. you really do get treated differently. well it is getting a little better but we are not all the way there. soon we will be there because the world is changing rapidly.someone said something about black t.v. well for years when we turned on the t.v. every thing on it was white. there was no blacks on the andy griffin show. no blacks on happy days with the fonz. but i'm not tripping. im glad to see some of my own people. it just like if you had to work with nothing but black people you would be happy to see some white people. hey you did just use the *** ger word. do you feel better? i know some honest white people who use it all the time.
