Way different---people are nicer, however.

It really does depend on what area of Georgia you are moving to.
Atlanta is a busy and bustling metropolis. The people are usually rushing everywhere and traffic can be a real pain, depending on the time of day, but...I still think the general hospitality of folks is better than anywhere else in the U.S. (No offense intended to anyone, anywhere.)
I live in northwest Georgia, just up against the Tennessee line. It is a little more rural up here, but we're not totally 'out in the sticks'. We are close to a decent sized city, Chattanooga (see resources below), but we also still have a good bit of farmland and grazing-land left as well - a good balance I think.
You can still eat at a different restaurant every day if you wish with a variety of tastes and styles. You should have no problem shopping, etc.
I hope this helps. :)

There are different areas of Georgia just as there are in any other state. But in general, the weather is warm...and so are the people. The scenery in some parts is breathtaking. Lots of Georgia is slower than other places...by that I mean the lifestyle. Not as much rushing and stress. Lots of farmland and mountain areas...a little bit of paradise, I would say.

It is a whole different world, and you will probably LOVE it! :)
I am from the Southwest, but lived in Mayport FL for 4 years in The Navy, I got to see a substantial amount of the Southeast, and loved it!
Life is slower, but people work harder, it can be hot and humid, as already mentioned, but the people and culture are different than the West Coast. I commonly refer to The Southeast as "Grassroots America", and call the West coast "plastic fantastic" ;)
I love both sides though :)

If you love reading then you are going to heaven. I heard that the world's highest number of books per person is in Georgia...

Hot and humid. Make sure you have AC in your new home. If the electric power goes out, good luck.
Lots of churches if you're a church goer.
