Hello, Im a mother of three ,33, healthy, but I only have 3 friends, I dont want to be involved in pta and put on fronts with other moms...its hard for me to feel comfortable with many people. I wondered if many moms had many friends anyway, and if so, how do they find the time with bills, work, kids ,hubby...what are things you can do with friends at home in your thirtes?

I personally don't think its the quanity of friends you have but the quality. The ones that do support you, are there during the hard times and good.. I know for me, I have always made time to volunteer @ my son's school as often as possible, be a part of the pta meetings and anything else in between. But it helps that I don't work as well .. when I was working I was struggling to get those things done and found it was even more important to spend one on one time with my son. As to finding time to be with friends, it was more play dates for us. Things that included the kids but still getting that bonding with a friend. Could be a simple picnic, day @ the park or a outdoor adventure.

WOW a real woman!
ME too sister! Mom, Wife, Business Owner and Minister.
Do I have time for the drama of others? Well Yes.

I have one best friend, you know "give a kidney too".
a hand full of friends, give a $100 no q's asked and don't ask for it back, no matter how hard it hurts ya.

I have more aquanitances, the such listed group above in your Q.

You don't have to be "faux" to be friendly. Just be polite and move forward. My bestfriend is amazed by me everytime we go out for any reason. "See" I'm the one everyone wants to TELL their stuff to and within 5 minutes I can have a 10 or more year history on that person. That doesn't mean I will use it, it just means I listen and they feel warm to me. I have a bad habit of forgetting names, so that is the ironic twist. Remember your life story and can't remember your name ha ha.

We have a game night at our homes once a month on a Satuday and its a HUGE cook out/ pot luck and sleep over.

All the kids have a very well paid babysitter and eat, drink, play and sleep as a big unit, in the hugest bedroom ( a roll away bed blocks the door and ths sitter sleeps there) and main living room is tons of kid friendly things and snacks. We adults actually pull an all nighter or crash on a sofa for few hours, it feels like we are being WILD and it allows us to drink responbily and have a great family time. ONce a month is enough- trust me.

I am 30, have 3 kids and all I do is spend time with my fiance or the kids. I have 2 people I'd really call friends. It's hard trying to juggle kids, work, my man, bills, shopping, school work, housework. I've invited some of my before kids friends over, but they always make excuses, its like once you have kids and a life, then your friends bolt because they dont understand limitations of your time, try the kids play groups, if that doesnt work nobody can be a better friend than your hubby, and you always have the kids, its not you, its a plague that finds all moms

I don't think there is a correlation to the number of friends and being a mother. If you don't have alot of friends now, it's probably because you never had alot of friends to begin with. Don't take it the wrong way, a large social network isn't for everybody and there's nothing wrong with that. As for as what you can do at home in your 30's, that's kind of a silly question. Whatever you're interested in? (Poker, Orgies, Karaoke, Ping Pong, Watching Movies, Oprah, Talking)
