Remember the rainbow with Roy G. Biv - Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Remeber the planets with this: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Plums - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto
(Although the Astonomical Union just downgraded Pluto from official plante status, so depending on what your learning this for, you might need to change it to My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos (or whatever other N food you like.))

My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets

Of course, pluto is no longer considered to be a planet.
Oh, and btw, things like this designed to remember something are called 'mnemonics'.

Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet
Roy. G. Biv used to work but some profs tell me indigo is no longer counted (not like it matters anyway... there are countless colors...)
Roy G. Bv is easy enough
Dunno a sentance for it maybe "Rain on you? Go buy vest!"
Planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune...
Maybe Very Enraged Men Just Shouldn't Usurp the Ninth (since they yoinked pluto and all...)
Some people use
Mr. VEM J. SUN
I think Uranus and Neptune are the hardest so just remember it ends in "SUN"
If you just cant get enough random memorization there is also
Please excuse my dear aunt Sally in math for the order of operations...
Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction.... although that becomes pointless at some level of math
I still remember the nonsensical
Kings Play Chess On Fine Grain Sand
from biology for the nomenclature or latin names of living things
it stands for
Kingdom, Phyllum, Class, Origin, Family, Genus, Species
If you feel like memorizing the kingdoms...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_%28biology%29
hmm I was taught 5 in high school but I see now there are just 6?... and I'm not that old

Mnemonic to remember Planets
Many Very Educated Men Just Speak Up Naturally
Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune
Mnemonic to remember the colours of the rainbow
Richard Of York Gained Battles In Vain
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet
This refers to Richard III who was killed on the battle of Bosworth Field, in 1485, the last battle of the Wars of The Roses. Shakespeare's play of the same name has him exclaim "A horse! A horse! My Kingdom for a Horse!" but it was a hearse that carried him from the field, and what use were his previous victories then?
It is probably best to devise your own as you will remember it more easily.

Get a poster of them in a line!
Funny enough, they control our lives/feelings/moods!
I just know the primary colours- red, blue, yellow (or 'magenta' and 'syan.') and secondary (what these colours can be made into mixed together-their children, in other words)- purple, greem orange (or 'amber.' :-P)
'Hope I am of some help!

Yes I can, for the colors of the rainbow, remember this, ROYGBIV, ( I hope u know what it stands for), and for the names of the planets, that's the thing that I dont know. Just make acronyms. And give it the tune of your favorite song.
