Data is mostly processed by the CPU (Central Processing Unit). The data it processes almost always comes from your main memory, aka RAM. Any program you run is loaded into RAM. The program is simply a collection of instructions. The CPU reads and follows these instructions.
However other parts of the computer also process data. Parts which you may not usually think about. For instance, your soundcard processes bits of audio data before they are outputted to speakers or are inputted from a microphone. Your graphics card processes a tremendous amount of data in order to render 2D images and 3D objects.

It is processed in the CPU. But we now a days have different data processing units: like a graphic processor, etc.
But the Central Processing Unit is the main responsible for producing the data even for such Graphics processor, etc.
