I've been working it for 4 1/2 years and I love it. It took me about three months to get my body adjusted, but it is okay now. I basically rescheduled everything and started working out when I got off so that I could sleep in the afternoons. If I go to bed right when I get off, I tend to stay in bed all day.

Yeah I work a rotating 12 hr shift which is even worse than a straight graveyard shift. Used to work graveyard and loved it once I got used to it. But even after getting used to it still was a little tired sometimes. I would sleep of the mornings right after getting off that seemed to work the best for me.

Yes, I worked it for twelve years. No human should never have to work that shift. It is just not normal for the body, the sleep pattern will never be the same, you miss out on the children playing games at school. You just miss out on so much. You are always tired. You come home after a midnight shift and lite the grill at 7:00AM, get the kids off to school, and if married, her also. After eating you go outside, cut the grass, wash the car, and do whatever. Try to lie down and get some rest about noon. Not a chance. If I did not get three hours sleep between 7PM and 10PM it was like I had never slept...

i think it's harder for people who only work 8 hours a night b/c they have to work 7 days a week w/only one day off-you feel like you have no break.

i work from 7p-7a usually but the past two weeks i've been working 17 hours shifts (7p-12p the next day). i get about 5 hours of sleep and then go back into work. i feel a little sleepy around 4a but it's not too bad.

when i'm not working the overtime and just sticking to my regular 7p-7a shift-it's great. i only work 3 days a week, all in a row and then have four days off. i will stay up till about 1-2a on my days off and then go to sleep till about 10-11a. i'm then able to get up and do stuff during the day.

i've never been a morning person-i hate getting up when it's light outside. i love doing things at nite when the weather is cool ( i live in phoenix az) and there aren't too many people out.

I don't work 3rd shift but I may as well. I wake up every morning at 2 a.m. and can't go back to sleep. I yawn all day long.

Used to. Just maintain a consistent sleep schedule. My boss would sleep during the night on his days off which didn't make any sense and then he would come into work tired all the time. Surprise surprise..
