mid-term elections are coming up. people usually forget about the high prices and will think noly about the low ones. also, the peak driving season is over. the law of supply and demand is what drives prices up and down.

Prime vacation time is over. Kids are back in school so family vacations are on hiatus. Wait until the holidays . . . prices will go back up some before Thanksgiving and drop back down after the first of the year.

I don't know, but I'm hoping my pants don't drop like that haha. Maybe the govt hid a bit too much and figured they better sell with the rising interest rates. It was a good way of making money. Anyway, I'm sure someone smart is behind it, enjoy the change while it's on your side.

It's after labor day, the prices always drop after labor day because the oil companies know most people drive for vacations in the summer so there is more demand. Also they increased production and the price per barrel dropped.

increased exports from opec and other opec competitors. trying to win our confidence back. afraid we will all switch to alternatives and destroy the monopoly. supposed to be about 2.00 a gollon inn southern cali by the end of november. we are at about 2.89 where i'm at. didnt miss anything except I guess a natural progression from more expensive to less expensive and the old man(petroleum) trying to keep up with the young boy(alternative).
I hope alternatives keep this up so I can drive my gas guzzler and not cry when i leave the station.

You must live in the sticks, especially when you stated almost $3.00 a gallon. Then again you say didn't per gallon. Maybe you were paying for a small bucket. Anyway you sure don't want to live in California because you won't be able to find a place to park your trailer.

$2.39 in Eastern North Carolina. It was $2.79 a few days ago. Maybe after the storm blew out, they decided to lower prices?

You know what's funny? Usually they increase before a holiday weekend, this time they dropped. Went from 2.89 to 2.49, even one place here selling for 2.29-west of nashville area.
