I am planning to visit Greece in mid October and was wondering if anyone here could recommend some hotels in the city center. Last year I went during the summer and stayed at a hotel called King Jason which was okay. The shower was very small though. I would like something with a tub:):) I was looking at a hotel called Hellinis but have read mixed reviews. I appreciate your help:)

Try Matt Barrett's site on the web ... www.greektravel.com. He gives informal and detailed reviews of the good hotels in the city, and he knows what he's talking about. A bathtub in Greece is fairly rare, though some of the older hotels have them. I have been more than comfortable at the Acropolis View, and you can't beat the location. The best bathtubs in Athens are at the Grand Bretagne, of course, but the prices are astronomical. You should, however, plan to have high tea or a drink there ... you never know who you'll run into ... Queen Sophia walked through the lobby trailed by her retinue last time we was there. We thought there were no secret servicemen or guards with her. When we commented on this to our fellow tea drinker reading Italian business magazines on the sofa across from ours, he let us know that in fact he was assigned to keep his eye on us! Have a great trip ... you've chosen a perfect time to be there.

I went to Hotel Arion and was very pleased by it... We had a tub. It's not really in the center, but not far off either. (5 minute walk)
I don't know about the price, because we got a package (airplaneticket included, but you can always inform...)

the address:
18 Agiou Demetriou Street
10556 Athens

hi, I went to Rome with my spouse 2 months in the past and we stayed on the inn ARTEMIDE.. i'm italian from Venice and that i've got loads of acquaintances residing in Rome that propose me this inn.. it rather is precise interior the middle of the city, you could the two walk or take the subway, you're close to each little thing. the cost is actual stable and the rooms are very great. One advice...do no longer difficulty pay extra for breakfast interior the inn..there are a number of many coffe places around city to have a common italian breakfast and great espressos. it rather is between the perfect rated inns from people that went in holiday.
