A jump serve is not illegal but it also is not efficient. By jumping you are using all arm and no legs and could develop shoulder problems. You would be better served to learn the traditional service motion in which you can get more speed on the ball.
By the way, certain jump serves are illegal. If you take more than two steps to get up to the baseline for the serve, it is considered a running start and that would be illegal.

You can jump serve the ball from behind the baseline and land anywhere inside or outside the court. As long as no part of your feet touches the baseline upon serving the ball, the shot is legal.
Observe how the pros serve, you'll notice that they bend their knees and store a load of energy in their leg muscles before releasing the energy by pushing up from the ground as they extend up to serve. It's a powerful extension, but not a jump. Their feet leave the ground but only a few inches. They produce a powerful propulsion upwards towards the ball, but they keep their balance strictly under control, landing (usually on the front foot) in a manner that's more akin to a hop than a jump.

it's not illegal to jump really high in tennis...
the cons to jumping in your serve is that it's hard to maintain a consistent serve given that you have to simultaneously (1) jump high into the air, (2) toss the ball even higher, and (3) swing your racquet & aim for the ball.
the pro is mostly that you get a lot of height to your serve, whether that's a good thing or not depends on what you do with it.

It's not illegal, but it doesn't provide a huge advantage, or else everyone would serve that way.
If you look at photos of serves, players actually get off the ground sometimes, but the jump is byproduct of a fluid service motion.

It is hard to serve as it is, If You should do a wolleyball serve, you add to the difficulty in so many ways that it's
simply not worth it. If You look at the statistics from the tournaments the big servers seldom ends up first. Roger Federer for example neither has most aces or hardest serve.
