at first my ipod video 30gb was working fine then it gave me the folder with explamation point icon. I tired restoring it by holding down the select and menu button nothing happened...then i also tired the hold switch back and fourth like the apple.com site says again nothing happen. Now its like completely dead nothing appears on the screen. I re-downloaded itunes and all the updates again nothing. I hook up my ipod with the usb cord it came with and it seems to do nothing....my computer doesnt even know its hooked up. I got it as a gift from my dad i got the reciete box everything....i was wondering if any one knew what i could do!?? i dont have warranty on it and theres no apple store near where i live its like 2 hours away. And everytime i call apple i get a recording and no help. Can i take it to bestbuy where i bought it? thanks and i hope i get this darn thing working

Sorry to say it, but you're screwed. It might be that the battery is dead. The same thing happened to my mini; I learned that my only option was to send it in to Apple to be fixed for $200! So I said, "**** it" and threw it away.
