I havent heard that yet, I cant imagine a country killing an animal for that, Steve swam up on the stingray, the shark and all, the stingrays wouldnt know it was revenge so where's the joy in that?I hope that isnt true, because I like Australians, and if they are that stupid, I dont think I will respect them as a people anymore.

Yes I heard some were mutilated.

It angered me to hear that because the stingrays didn't plot to kill Steve Irwin. He invaded thier turf and took a risk being around them. Animals aren't vengeful--they are just operating on instinct. Though it is tragic that Steve Irwin died so young because of some freak accident, the stingrays aren't to blame. He knew it was dangerous being there and that anything could happen. That was the life he lead.

Yea i knew that was going to happen!!Do these people think steve(lover of animals)would want such a thing to happen???No he wouldnt .Steve done what he wanted regardless of the risks and he put himself in may dangerous situations. But thats what he wanted to do it was his passion in life.LIke they say live by the sword die by the sword. He is like probably the only one in like a million people to ever die from a sting ray it was a freak accident so why in the world would people kill sting rays over it??Its nuts and im sure steve is turning over in his grave!

I think that's wrong. What happened to Steve Irwin was an accident. It could have happened to anyone. It's not right to take it out on the entire species.

I'm an Australian and it makes me sad for the poor animals. It also makes us (being Australians) look really stupid to the rest of the world.

Haven't herd that but it would be a shame to Steve if they were doing this! They need to think about how bad this would hurt him!!! If it is true it is CRAZY!!! How sad!!!!!
