The PDA's of today are wireless mini-computers that you don't have to squint your eyes to read the text on. The phone has the same gadgets but they are all squeezed together. My PDA is good, but at times awkward. If you need a number the PDA has to make a call,,you gotta search for the number. The cell has it all there, for as long as the memory on that model holds out,and the battery of course. So, there are up and down sides to both.

Depends on your needs!... PDAs are basically mini computers and are differnet than mobile phones! If you are really having trouble deciding, then make a compromise and get a PDA-phone. I have a few suggestions that you should look at:
HP iPaq rw6828

Pitech I-10 (the problem here is that you are going to have to wait a while because it hasnt been released yet. It will be released by the end of the year. However it is a palm based device) (www.brighthand.com/article/PiTech_I-10_Announced )

Dopod 838 Pro (http://www.asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhelds/0,39001703,39268469p,00.htm?)

The PDAs mentioned above have excellent features and all, but if you are really looking for a good mobile phone with a good camera then go with the Sony Ericsson k800i or the Sharp 903s..

I've got a Motorola A1000 which if a full on touch screen mobile phone with MP3, voice recording, camera, internet & also a fairly good PDA with full sync ability to MS Outlook, send & recieve Emails....
It also runs TomTom and a load of games & applications.
Will also happily take a 1Gb memory card.

If you MUST get a proper PDA - the XDA II is a PDA with a phone in it.

Why not get the best of both worlds by buying a smartphone which combines a mobile phone with the features of a PDA? I would recommend looking at the Palm Treo:

Palm are famous for making products that are powerful, yet easy-to-use. I would recommend that you go to a local retailer and try the "look-and-feel" of a few smartphones, including the Palm Treo. Good luck in making a decision.

Dopond 900 yet 'X'. nonetheless perfer dopond 838 & wait! 838 professional could be out directly, why dont wait a at an identical time as extra desirable?

I would get both.

I'd rather play games and listen to music on a pda, than on a phone, as it can show more.

Do not get a combined device...think about a TV/VCR with a broken VCR. If one dies, you're not completely screwed. I speak from experience.
