I did propose and have been married for 11 years. It was just one of those things, I bought a 99cent ring and proposed as a joke but after we stopped laughing we decided to do it.

Basically it's because tradition dictates that the man is should pop the question. Some women who would propose don't because it is still somewhat of a faupa in most circles.

Because, girls are first learning things from the boy as she is new do not know much and how - and also "shy" to say that "YES", so they giving change for boys to say....it does not mean that they are fools...sure they are smart and good...so kind also to boys...Now you go and propose to her....

some girls do! however, traditionally it is the guy who proposes to the girl, so many feel that they should wait and let the guy propose.
