Romance is as alive as love itself. I remember going a first date that lasted more than 13 hours. It felt like hours turned into minutes. He picked me up; I treated him to lunch and we talked four about 2 hours; whiling staring in each others eyes. Later we walked on the beach for another 2 hours. We didn't want to leave each other, and didn't want to end the date. So I suggested cocktails on one of the Queen Mary's bars. On the bowel of the ship, we had beers and talked for another 3 hours. He held my hand in public and I never pulled away. Later we ended up at his house to feed the dogs by his pool and chatted more for another hour. After wards we went out for dinner at a nice Piano Bar, and I can't remember what I had for dinner, but I could tell you about the conversation. To make a long story short; we left there and hung out walking and talking; until we realized that we need to sleep in order to see each other the next day. Romance the simple touch, the look in the eyes; the smile from across the table; and hugs that could keep you warm in the dead of winter. Wow!

Not quite a first date story, but...
We'd just gotten together after going in circles about it for quite a while, and to put it frankly...neither of us had had sex in quite some time (let's just say over six months for both of us...actually longer...) and really wanted to. This was complicated by: I, being a Poor College Student, was living with my parents at the time, and he had a roommate who had already let it be known that he had a massive crush on me.
So he, the roommate, and I all had a class at the same time. He faked sick that day and told the roommate I was having cramps, and would he mind terribly going and taking notes for us? The roommate, who actually *was* not feeling well, agreed...leaving us with the apartment for a few hours. You can fill in the blanks...
And as for how it turned out? That was two years ago and we're quite deeply in love now. The roommate found out we were dating, but has never yet learned what happened while he was taking notes for us...

The people that aren't willing to be romantic are saying that. First date story: I went out with a Persian Prince who's birthday happened to be the same as mine. This was some years ago when I lived in L.A. I met him at a party at the Playboy Mansion. I thought is would be cool and boy was I wrong. The rudest date I ever had. I was naive and didn't realize that the men from that part of the world made a habit of owning women rather that treat them with respect. We ate at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu and told him off. I also took his limo back to my house. I left feeling satisfied and proud of myself for standing up to him.

Well this isn't really a date, this is me meeting my first boyfriend for the first time. I live in Manitoba, Canada, and my then boyfriend lives in British Columbia. I was 16, he was 19. After 5 months of online chatting and camming and whatnot, he decided that for my 17th he would come to see me. At first I didn't really think he would, but I kept my hopes up. Then one day (he told me he'd be coming a couple days later) I was at work and this really good looking guy comes in and i'm like holy crap he's hot! And then he smiled at me and my heart started beating really fast. It was him! he had actually made the 30 hour drive to come see me, I felt like the luckiest guy on the planet. It's kind of awkward meeting someone in person for the first time after knowing them for so long online. It had been previously arranged that he would be staying at my house (little did my parents know that he wasn't just my innocent friend from BC). After I was finished work we went to my parents house and I quickly introduced him to my mom and then we set up a bed for him in the room next to mine, and I quickly took a shower. When I came back downstairs he was lying on the bed and I kinda just stood there awkwardly gazing at him from the doorway, my hair still wet. Then he said "After 5 months, all you're going to do is stand there?" So i climbed onto the bed...and you can guess what all happened that night. Though we are no longer together, I will always remember that week we spent together, me skipping school to go shopping with him and going out to dinner every night. Holding hands, and making out at red lights(it makes the red lights seem a lot shorter). I still can't believe that someone would actually make such a long trip just for me, that he had loved me so much that he was actually going to move here for a year until I was done school. Then my parents found out what was really going on, I moved out of my parents, got really depressed, and he went back to BC. It's been a while since then, but still fresh in my mind like it happened yesterday. I'll never forget it.

First date....16 years old at the time. Never had a boyfriend....first time for everything.....really excited. He told me we were going to the drive-in movies. I got all fancied up and he came to pick me up. Met the folks....blah blah blah....we talked in the car for a bit...then right before we got to the drive-in theater he pulled the car over to the side of the road and got out. He came over to the passenger side door and told me to get out and hop in the trunk for a minute. I stupidly complied and we went into the drive-in.....well, he only paid for himself of course because I was stuck in the trunk with a tire iron in my back! What a crazy night....then he actually thought I was going to kiss him at the drive-in......the date ended early and I never got in anymore trunks again.........

I asked him out. Well actually to meet in front of the movies and watch it as friends. We watched and laughed and laughed and he bought my supper and we rode around in his car for about 2 hrs. When he leaned over to kiss me I wouldn't let him and then I decided to let him kiss me good night. I went home. He went home. He called me a few times the next week and made me laugh (he is very funny) He asked me out for the next weekend and the rest is history.

its all a state of mind....you may fall in love and be romantic with the odds of creatures.....its like some may call a half full glass as half full whereas some may think it as half empty.
