If you aren't sure what your skin type is then use a facial wash that is good on all skin types like Cetaphil.

yes it does matter!
Make sure you read the label... because if you have oily skin and you get the one for an oily face (which will make your face dryer) it is ok. But, if you have a dry face and you use the face wash for oily skin it'll make your face even dryer than it already is. I don't know if that makes sense but i hope it helps.
