So the VA contracts with Johns Hopkins University. They headed the Institute of Medicine committee that prepared the report. "Oh there's no UNIQUE pattern of symptoms. Every pattern identified in Gulf War vets seems to exist in other veterans, even though the symptom rate is higher and it is a serious issue. "
ah. Duh?
Of course this "report" about this "serious" issue will be relied upon to determine whether affected Gulf War veterans are eligible for special disability benefits IF they are found to suffer from illnesses that can be linked to their service.

This is disgusting, and just another slap in the face for veterans.

This administration cut $3 billion from veterans hospitals.

Until protests led to a policy change, the Bush administration also was charging injured GIs from Iraq $8 a day for food when they arrived for medical treatment at the Fort Stewart, Georgia, base where most injured are treated.

I sympathize with your desire to have a child but this is a Bad, bad BAD idea! Legally: Not only can your friend get fired if caught, in most places this is a felony. And you are an accessory. Unless you want to have a baby in jail, forget it. Biologically: There is a reason in vitro fertilization is a low yield proposition: The conditions do not favor impregnation. That is why it usually takes a number of attempts. Let's face it - the "usual" way of fertilization usually takes a several attempts (on average). Ethically: People who donate sperm do so under very strict conditions and under the assurance that their genetic material will be used appropriately. They have a right to have that expectation fulfilled. And what would you tell your child? That they were the product of a crime? Please reconsider.

This is a disgrace to our soldiers.
It's funny how they said it existed from returning Viet Nam Veterans, and from Iran. So why doesn't it all of a sudden exist for Iraq Veterans ?
Go figure. I think this government is afraid of too many lawsuits.
