1) An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing, identifying, or quantifying words. An adjective usually precedes the noun or the pronoun which it modifies.
examples:-
1-The truck-shaped balloon floated over the treetops.
2-Mrs. Morrison papered her kitchen walls with hideous wall paper.
adjectives in these 2 sentence: truck-shaped, kitchen,hideous
(2) A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them (as in drowning in money)
(3) A simile is a figure of speech in which the subject is compared to another subject. Frequently, similes are marked by use of the words like or as or so.. examples are
busy as a bee
clear as a bell
cold as ice
cute as a button
dry as a bone
dead as a doornail
(4) Abstract nouns are ideas, feelings or qualities such as love, hate, kindness, fear, anger, imagination, courage, intelligence, loneliness, happiness, sadness, bravery, cowardice, embarrassment, joy, beauty, ugliness, confidence, luck, misfortune, mischief, bitterness, justice, injustice, grief, boredom, cheerfulness.
Abstract nouns cannot be seen or touched in the same way as concrete nouns such as chair, table, dog, Lancaster, or Thomas

Adjective = It qualifies noun e.g the red book. red is an adjective
Metaphor = is a figure of speech or symbol.
Simile = it is the sense of resembelance, sameness or correspondence.
Abstract noun = it is a noun that is not seen e.g happyness, sadness. It is just a feeling
