Zidane was just defending his sister, that was an honorable act..so I think Zidane's mistake might be categorized as a good one, though it tarnishes his glorious career..at least Zidane won the Golden Ball Award..he deserved it very much..but I can't definitely say that I'll do the same to Mat if he says something bad about my sis..perhaps I'll just try to settle with him after the game,or perhaps I'll do worse than what Zidane had done..I can't exactly say which one,I don't go through what Zidane had gone through and I'm not in his shoes..no matter what,Zidane should be forgiven,he apologized for his brutal act..and remember that Zidane is just a normal human being who is blessed with amazing football skills, and normal human beings make mistake,so I can't see why can't we forgive him? please let him lives his life in peace..

Materrazzi didn't curse ZIdane's family he just made a sexual comment-He's not the first to do it and he wont be the last. Doesn't make it right. Zidane should have walked away. He would have come out being the bigger person.

Obviously the first reaction would be to use your fist. Who the hell would think of using the head? That's just vicious!
Now let me outline the conversation for you. Materazzi was tugging Zidane's jersey. Zidane turns to him, sneers, looks him up and down and says "If u want my shirt that badly, i'll give it to u after the match." (That was clearly a scornful remark)
So Materazzi scorns him back and says "I'd rather have your sister." and probably elaborates a bit on it.
Then WHAM. Materazzi is down. The world is in shock. Zidane is out.

no i wouldn't do that. it's my family, not theirs, so why should i care what they feel about my family as long as i still care about them? it's not going to help me any by doing something like that to someone i have no control over. i would just get on with my life and enjoy time with my family. so for you second question, it is only a mistake if you want it to be a mistake. if zidane doesn't regret what he did, then it's not a mistake. but i definitely think it was unnecessary.

No, not on the field anyway. Zidane lost it and took himself out of the game, possibly causing his team to lose the World Cup. Also, that head butt is what he will be remembered for, and is the last act of his remarkable professional career. That sucks!

if it would have been a mistake then it couldn't be good! I don't think it was a mistake!
zizou is still a pure legend and his fans know this better than me!
as for me I would have done the same thing to materazzi if he would have twittered something about my family! he's really gone he has mental and social problems!

First of all Materazzi didn't curse his family, secondly Zidane being such a professional with many years of experience fell for a stupid trick that's always done on a soccer field. He isn't so smart after all is he??

Zidane's mistake was silly.
But if someone said anything to my sis as Materazzi said,
I WOULD do something more than a headbutt!!!!!!!!!
HEADBUTT IS LESS FOR AN ILL TO UR SIS!!!!!!!!!

I think the insult became too personal which is why zizou reacted that way. given the same situation, I might even do worse, who knows… besides, I just don’t get it with this trash talk business. I know the guys think it’s cool, edgy, macho, part of the game, etc etc. ad infinitum but it’s often directed at women and it’s annoying to say the least. If they think the practice is too cute to let it go then instead of yo mama why not trash yo papa, yo schmo bro, yo ugly uncle joe, whatever….just keep us gals out of it.
