For years I wasn't a Raider fan (I live 5 minutes from their stadium) because of Al Davis. Al Davis IS the Raiders. He owns them. It would be wonderful if the County of Alameda or the City of Oakland could buy the franchise, vis a vis Green Bay, but that'll never happen (too many other things to take care of!)

Uh, I'm pretty sure Al Davis will own the Raiders until he passes. Maybe his heirs will sell the team, or revitalize it?

soxrcat obviously knows nothing about the Alameda County or city of Oakland Governments. These two govermental organizations are about as corrupt and incompentent as it gets. To even suggest that they could run an NFL team is comical. Besides, if the idiots tried Al would take them to court and kick their butts,again.

how do u get rid of someone who own's the team? i guess if the raiders plays badly enough, he might think of selling it or something but i doubt it. unless he gets a heart attack or something like that, then no one can really do anything about it since he owns the team.

I hope Al stays alive long enough to take the angelinos in exile back to LA. Hopefully a lot of their fans will go with them so we don't have the r*ider problem ever again in Oakland.
