Me and bob live 50 miles apart. I leave for his house at 5:00 and travel 40 mph. He travels to my house at the same time at 35 mph... at what time will me meet?

i don't think you will meet at a specific time !!
one of you will get there first (each of you will arrive at a different time) of course
so you would never arrive at the same time
so the question
at what time will we meet?

If both run for 1 hour that is in 60 minutes they will run 40+35=75 miles.
75 miles run @ 60 min
1 mile run @ 60/75
50mile run @ 60/75*50 = 40 minutes.
After 40minitues they will meet.

40x+35x=50
75x=50
x=2/3 or 40 minutes
